The correct way to inspect and use crane pulleys

As one of the main equipment for engineering construction, the working intensity of the crane is getting higher and higher. In the case of long-term intensive working cycle, it will cause certain damage to the crane itself and its components. This requires us to consider how to reduce the working intensity of the crane.

The crane pulley is a receiving part in the crane. Its main function is to pass the wire rope, change the movement direction of the wire rope and achieve the purpose of saving effort. According to the purpose, it can be divided into fixed pulley and movable pulley. The movable pulley is installed on the mandrel that can move up and down. It is usually combined with the fixed pulley to form a pulley group to achieve the purpose of saving effort and make the high-speed rotation of the motor adapt to the speed of the mandrel moving downward.

The correct way to check and use the crane pulley is explained:

1. Before using the crane pulley group, it should be carefully checked and replaced in time if cracks, damage and deformation are found.
2. The crane pulley and crane wire rope should be properly matched. The rope diameter used shall not be larger or smaller than the bottom diameter of the wheel groove (if the wheel groove is narrow and the wire rope is thick, the wheel rim will be damaged and the wire rope will be seriously worn. If the wheel rim is too wide, the wire rope will be easily flattened and damaged after being stressed). Therefore, when selecting a pulley, the wheel groove width should be 1 to 2.5 mm larger than the wire rope diameter. The diameter of the pulley should not be less than 16 times the diameter of the wire rope.
3. The pulley should have a device to prevent the wire rope from jumping out of the wheel groove. Especially for places with large force changes and high-altitude operations, it is forbidden to use hook-type pulleys, and ring pulleys should be used.
4. The pulley should be smooth and smooth, and there should be no defects that damage the wire.
5. The pulley should be used strictly according to the lifting capacity of the pulley, and overloading is not allowed.
6. The crane pulley block (including the pulley) should be regularly inspected, lubricated and maintained to keep the pulley flexible and in good working condition, and remove dangerous and harmful factors in time.
